Adventure on the Board: Three Snowboarding Destinations for Thrill Seekers
Your board is ready. Your blood is pumping. Your schedule is clear. Now, all you need is a great destination for adventure on the snowboarding trails. Adventure means having the time of your life getting to the trails, then making runs worth the envy of all your friends. Before you run out the door, consider three of the most daring adventure snowboarding destinations for thrill-seekers:
1. Timberline Resort, Mt. Hood (Oregon)
Due to the intense altitude of Mt. Hood, you can hit these trails anytime of the year. With a constantly snow-capped top among the highest in the United States, this is not a snowboarding destination for the faint at heart. Your blood won’t be able to contain itself from pumping as you take on some of the most extreme runs available in the country.
2. Tierra del Fuego (South America)
If you want to get away from the crowds, why not head to the southern tip of the world? The intense winters in this region bring very heavy snowfall that creates snowcapped mountains from the inland to the sea. There are several snowboarding destinations in the area and the views are so remarkable you can see to Antarctica. This is snowboarding to the extreme, so suit up in your warmest gear, put on the goggles, and bring out all your skill.
3. Tiffendell Resort (South Africa)
You might not expect to find a snowboarding area south of the Sahara, but that is exactly what you find at the Tiffendell Resort. Snow falls for three months out of the year, creating a 2,000 foot run that will challenge even the most skilled snowboarders. Your friends will think you are going on a safari adventure to roam in the heat with the lions and tigers, so imagine their faces when you come home with pictures of the daring snow-covered trails with no animals blocking your run!
Whether you want to stay close to home or get as far away as possible, there are several snowboarding destinations and adventure trails out there waiting for your board. Hop on and get moving!
